Name

Chocolit Tye-Prince of Southern soul Music

What is your profession?

I'm a southern soul,Trail ride and Zydeco music singer

How did you get into the field that you are in today?

I started singing professionally back 1993 started out as a R&B singer,Rapper and was one of the hottest rap and R&B music producers coming out of Dallas back in the late 90's early 2000's. Got into music by singing hooks on a lot of popular "OG" rappers songs like Too $hort,Ron C,Nemesis,Kotton Mouth Jesse,Triple O C and Quint Black who had the Hit single "Shake Them Haters off". I'm the artist who filed one of the biggest law suit in Rap history against Lil Wayne, cash Money record and producer Jim Jonsen who produced the biggest song of Lil Wayne's music career "LOLLIPOP". I'm also the artist who created the original "LOLLIPOP" song 2006 before Lil Wayne stole bits of my song and put it out in 2008 and created his own song called Lollipop that sold millions and millions of copies and the rest is history let's just say: He became a Mega Star from using the melody and likeness from my song "LOLLIPOP". I was'nt able to go through with filng the lawsuit even though I had the top entertainment lawyers in the country representing me but do to difficulty proving my case I had to drop my lawsuit. But I thank Rickey Smiley and HeadKrack who were DJ's at 97.9 The Beat in Dallas Tx back in 2008 they were the first to break my story and tell it to the world. I am The KING of R&B in Dallas Tx and have a GOLD RECORD to back it. I won my first gold plaque from singing on one of Rapper TOO $HORT's songs called "CALL ME DADDY" produced by Quint Black. I'v e paid alot dues to get to where I am today. Today I am known as the Prince of Souther Soul I was given that name by The King of Southern Soul (Himself) Sir Charles Jones. He is the one who took me under his wing, mentored me and helped make me one of the hottest southern soul artist to ever come out of The State of Texas

What do you love most about your profession?

I just love music I grew up in the 70's 80's and 90's when music was real music not what it is today. My R&B mentors were were the real Kings of R&B like Charlie Wilson,R Kelly,Arron Hall,Bobby Brown these are the guys who helped me create and craft my singing style because all day everyday all I did was listen to their music and I sang every one of their songs that's how I learned how to sing wanting to sing like them now I sing as good as them. But hopefully one day I will get a chance to meet them just to thank them for helping me become the artist I am today. My real name is TYRONE my daddy named me Tyrone after the blues legend Mr. Tyrone Davis whom my dad was a big fan of So i guess you can say I was destined to be a great singer before I was born.
