Jayla Elise
What is your profession?
I am a singer, songwriter, and entertainer.
How did you get into the field that you are in today?
Music has always been ingrained in me. It wasn’t a matter of discovery—it was an internal knowing. I’ve always felt deeply connected to music, and as I grew, I naturally stepped into this path, honing my craft and sharing my voice with the world.
What do you love most about your profession?
I love the ability to connect with people through my music. Being able to express emotions that others might struggle to put into words and seeing how my songs resonate with them is incredibly fulfilling.
Tell us more about what you do?
I write R&B and Pop music that reflects real-life experiences, blending raw emotion with storytelling. Alongside my music career, I also run The Elites (Embracing, Love, Inclusivity, Togetherness, Empowering, Success), a youth organization designed to help kids pursue their dreams in the arts. Through mentorship and opportunities, we aim to inspire the next generation of creatives.
When did you discover that you had a passion for this field?
I didn’t necessarily “discover” my passion—it was more so something I’ve always known. Music has been an internal part of me for as long as I can remember, and I never questioned that it was what I was meant to do.
Who in your field do you look up to?
I look up to artists like Aaliyah, and Whitney Houston. Their artistry, presence, and ability to leave a lasting impact inspire me to create music that stands the test of time.
